paper, house portraits I also am known in the area for my custom house portraits. I can work from photos provided by the customer or I can do a site visit and take the photos myself. Many of my customers have brought me photos from the home they grew up in and they describe things they remember when they lived there and would like to see in the painting that is not captured in the photo. |

Lou Jean Manning is a local artist. Her specialty is "Louminations." Louminations are hand painted bottles and glass blocks illuminated with miniature lights. Lou Jean's first "Loumination" was a wine bottle painted with multicolored tropical fish. It became Lou Jean's fish bowl, but without the feedings and the cleanings. A Hatteras Lighthouse Loumination soon followed. That was six years ago. Now, Lou Jean does butterflies, hummingbirds, dragonflies, horses, cars, pigs, Christmas themes, snowmen, Santa Claus, snowflakes, baby bottles in pink and blue with diaper pins, rocking horses and teddy bears, and of course any North Carolina lighthouse, especially the Hatteras. She does custom designs such as favorite pets, home decor themes, schools, churches, and vacation places upon request. Louminations have been shipped to many of the states, England and China. You can start your collection of one-of-a-kind Louminations by visiting with Lou Jean at the Roanoke Arts and Crafts Guild Fair Christmas Show, or, sending an email. |
